Grader Thresholds
Centering grade is determined by the worst of the two axes. Graded cards are evaluated independently per axis by BGS; this calculator uses the worst-axis method as a conservative estimate.
| Grade | PSA | BGS | TAG |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 / Pristine | 55/45 | 50/50 | 55/45 |
| 9.5 / Gem Mint | N/A | 55/45 | N/A |
| 9 / Mint | 60/40 | 60/40 | 60/40 |
| 8 | 65/35 | 65/35 | 65/35 |
| Below 8 | >65/35 | >65/35 | >65/35 |
Card centering is one of four subcategories PSA, BGS, and TAG evaluate when grading Pokémon and One Piece TCG cards. To achieve a PSA 10, centering must be 55/45 or better on both axes. BGS Pristine 10 requires a stricter 50/50, while BGS Gem Mint 9.5 allows up to 55/45. TAG 10 follows the same standard as PSA 10. Any axis worse than 65/35 drops a card below grade 8 regardless of condition.
